ARTIST STATEMENT
Opportunity. It’s the greatest blessing that God has given me in my life. As a refugee from Myanmar that immigrated to the United States at the age of 8 years old, I had the opportunity to dream big. The door of opportunity swung wide open, and I took it. Out of all the amazing opportunities that were given to me, the greatest one was the opportunity to learn. My parents sacrificed everything to make sure that I would have the opportunity to accomplish my dreams and goals. The opportunity to have an education has helped me toward accomplishing my dreams thus far.
My undergraduate experience at the number one ranked Regional College in the Midwest, Taylor University, has prepared me well. I had the opportunity to earn hands-on experience as the social media manager for the communication department for three years. As the social media manager, I learned how to create content through digital stories, and share the accomplishments, news, and updates from the communication department. One of my favorite projects was creating a promotional video, which highlighted testimonies from the students and faculty from the communication department. The power of storytelling has immense effects because stories allow people to connect, relate, and be inspired.
My passion for storytelling began in middle school when I started journaling every day. My creativity started flowing when I integrated my passion for music with writing. As a curious child, I loved listening to stories about my homeland from my grandmother. After listening to the stories, I wrote several songs and poems about my homeland combined with songs inspired from verses in the Proverbs. In high school, I was able to integrate digital storytelling in my promotion class. I learned to tell stories through creating short promotional videos regarding school announcements and events at school. Through writing script and creating content, I discovered my calling. I believe that a calling is quite simple. Since God gave me this passion and interest for a reason, with every project I take on, happiness and joy ignite in me, which further confirms that this is my calling.
I am a hardworking individual that likes to get creative with an entrepreneurial mindset. Curiosity and the willingness to learn is what drives me to get fresh perspectives. With every goal in mind, I persistently pursue it by creating opportunity for myself.
OPIOID CRISIS CAMPAIGN
In light of the growing opioid epidemic in Grant County, my PR Cases and Campaigns class put together an educational campaign on opioid awareness. Through this campaign, my group researched the opioid crisis in the state of Indiana. Also, I created educational materials to inform the students at Taylor about the opioid crisis by creating a poster and an infographic. Additionally, we put together a drug take back day for residents to drop off unused prescription drugs and we collected a total of 173.8 pounds of vulnerable prescription drugs. As a result, our class won the 2021 Marcom Awards.
LAYOUT & DESIGN
As a creative public relations professional, I love designing posters and flyers. I've created a chapel slide for Shop the Loop, posters for Global Music Ensemble, and an infographic for Public Health Major.
WEB DESIGN
I created my first online portfolio using HTML and CSS in my Web Design class. The process took a month to complete. First, we sketched our ideas on a grid paper to visualize it. Then, we did the wire framing using InDesign. Lastly, we use HTML and CSS to make our web design come to life.
SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY
Social media is a great way to promote organizations or programs. I handled social accounts for Taylor University's communication department for 3 years. I helped increased Instagram following by 500. My favorite content series that my co-social media manager and I created was called, "12 Days of Seniors." I'm honored to have received the Public Relations Excellence Promotion award.

SOCIAL MEDIA PLAN
I also created social media plans for clients such as Scatter Coaching, Scatter Global, and TU Public Health Club. Creating a well thought out social media plan takes lots of research. The goal is to promote for the client and get engagement from the targeted audience.
OPINION PIECE
I believe writing to persuade is a valuable skill to possess. I developed this skill in my PR Writing and Production class. Writing an opinion piece is more than just your opinion. It is an opinion backed up by facts and testimonials. To successfully write my opinion piece, I conducted a research for pros and cons on why grad school is a good investment for your future.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Like my Foundations of Photography Professor Miles says, "The best camera is your eye," here are a few top selected photos that I've captured. My top photos include pictures from street photography and "Not My Style" photo assignment which involved imitating Richard Avedon's style to my original photos. Photography is more than following the rules of composition (rule of thirds, contrast, exposure, framing, etc.), it is about expressing your style as an artist.

PROMOTIONAL VIDEO
The power of storytelling has immense effects because stories allow people to connect, relate, and be inspired. One of my favorite projects was creating a promotional video for the Public Health Major at Taylor University. I worked alongside Patrick Marsh, a film student, and we used storytelling to effectively create a powerful promo video.
